People replace their anger or aversion with Metta, but this isn’t the real practice of Metta.
Metta means NON-AVERSIVE.
Metta comes automatically when there is complete understanding of ‘cause’.
Without this understanding, true Metta can't follow.
But just cultivating Metta is better than nothing. It can be a good habit, though it might be developed as a form of ego. You should be careful. Therefore, you should check your mind if there is an aversion or not when you cultivate Metta.
People are deluded / ignorant. They just follow their own Kamma. They might have some knowledge about Buddhism but never cultivated it in the right way. It is hard to find a real yogi and a good teacher. It is very rare.
Like Jesus, he asked God before he died “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing”.
Human beings' planet is the best place to practice. All beings from the low and high planes come and meet here with all kinds of beings with their own Kamma. If you understand it, you can be more focused on yourself and not waste time as a human being. And we know what we have to do in our life.
In translation, understanding is Paññā (Wisdom) as well.
Keep trying to understand cause and effect. There will be no suffering if you understand the cause and effect without a colored perspective.
No color means having the Right View (Samma-Ditthi).
Right view leads to the Middle way.
If one has the right view, 3 fetters can be removed automatically. It is called a Sotapana (1st stage of enlightenment) which never rebirth in 4 woeful states.
May you be understanding more and more!
May you attain the Paññā (Wisdom)!
May your Paññā (Wisdom) be brought to the Nibbana!
We will discuss more about Metta in the next dhamma letter.
To be continued...
